The Conference in Review
Well another conference has come and gone. Our 22nd annual school health conference kicked off on Tuesday, June 21st with participants attending the pre-conference of their choice. There were two options to choose from :
“Practical Strategies to Increase Student Connectedness” presented by Dr. Keith King, Professor of Health Promotion & Education, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio
OR
“Integration of Academic and Mental Health Services” presented by Felicia Demchuk, M.Ed., Educational Service Director, Positive Education Program, Cleveland, Ohio.
Then the actual conference started on Wednesday morning. The theme of this year's conference was: "The Best Kept Secret: Health & Wellness Drives Your School's Report Card".
Our keynote speaker was Dr. Stephen Sroka from Lakewood, Ohio.
Dr. Sroka is an internationally recognized speaker, trainer, author, teacher and educational consultant on health education, school safety, brain-based learning, at-risk students and alternative education, parenting, dropout prevention and leadership building for schools and communities.
